Faith and Miracles: The Devotion to San Vicente Ferrer in Brgy. Mulig

The faith and devotion to San Vicente Ferrer continue to shine brightly as his devotees prepare for the 107th GKK Fiesta and the 7th Archdiocesan Shrine Fiesta on April 5, 2025. With the theme “A Journey of Hope: We Are a Pilgrim People,” the celebration is expected to bring together numerous believers seeking healing, guidance, and miracles from the saint known for his wondrous deeds.

San Vicente Ferrer has long been revered as a miraculous saint, with countless testimonies of healing and answered prayers. Many believe that those who approach him in faith will experience his divine intervention. Over the years, his presence has grown—both spiritually and physically. “Sa una, gamay pa iyahang rebulto, karon kay dako na jud siya, maong daghan siya ug devotee,” shared a local devotee, expressing how his image has expanded alongside the increasing number of faithful turning to him for hope.

Among his devoted followers is Feliciana Adami, 63, who has been a believer since childhood. She fondly recalls accompanying her grandmother in leading prayers at the chapel. Now residing in Brgy. Mulig, she continues to serve as a PSP at the Sto. Niño Chapel while regularly visiting San Vicente Ferrer’s shrine. “Daghan na ug nahatag o na-answer sa prayer si San Vicente Ferrer, sama sa maayong panglawas,” she shared. For her, the saint’s raised finger serves as a call to draw closer to God. “Dakong tabang si San Vicente sa akong kinabuhi,” she added, acknowledging the many blessings she has received. Her deep devotion to San Vicente Ferrer has also inspired her to serve God, dedicating her life to prayer and service in the church. Judy Ann Gupit, 29, also holds a profound devotion to San Vicente Ferrer. She constantly seeks his guidance and has witnessed the multitude of people who travel great distances to pray and ask for miracles. “Daghan kaayo mag-adto, labaw na ang mga lagyong lugar kay mag-ask ug guidance sa iyaha. Naga-perform ug miracles,” she said.

Even before the fiesta, devotees continuously offer prayers and sacrifices to San Vicente Ferrer. Their unwavering faith and gratitude keep his shrine alive with devotion all year round. As the grand celebration approaches, the community of Brgy. Mulig stands united in faith, preparing to honor the saint who has touched countless lives with hope and miracles.
