Divine Mercy

Believe and do not Doubt

Last April 27, 2025, the Catholic Church celebrated the Divine Mercy Sunday. I attended the Holy Mass at San Antonio de Padua Parish in Agdao at 2:00 pm and the homily was centered on the goodness and mercy of the Lord. The priest also shared how Thomas doubted the resurrection of the Lord. Despite all of this, Jesus assured Thomas and the rest of his disciples to believe and not doubt his presence.

Those messages were very timely as my family is struggling to meet our needs and as problems and challenges came in two folds. With that, there are times wherein I doubt God’s presence in our life. But the greetings of peace by Jesus in the Gospel and His words of reassurance, I continued to believe in Him and it helped in rekindling my faith that what we are going through will pass and that better days are coming.

Sister Faustina’s words were “Jesus I Trust in You” then became my heart’s lament. Realizing God’s endless mercy and love that are disguised in the goodness and kindness of people that He sends in our way taught me to be more grateful and thankful. Indeed, the Lord’s love cannot be fathomed, and we just have to put our constant faith in Him.

Dear Jesus, thank you for Your divine mercy and compassion. Although, there are times that we doubt Your love, You are always there comforting us through our family, friends and even in strangers.

Lord, help us to trust in you no matter what circumstances we are facing. Be it be good times or bad, may we call on You to bless and protect us. Increase our faith in You Jesus that we may always believe in Your mercy and great love. This we pray through the intercession of Mary our Mother, Amen.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
