Journeying together with St. Joseph, a companion of Hope
May 1, 2025, marked the 27th fiesta celebration of the Patron Saint of Gallera de Oro Subdivision, St. Joseph the Worker. The celebration carried the theme: San Jose: kauban sa panaw nga malaumon padulong sa Amahan nga langitnon.
The day began with a “Pamukaw,” where tricycles with loud music roamed the subdivision to wake up the residents. An hour later, a Zumba session was held to energize and get everyone moving. This was followed by a Holy Mass at the chapel, officiated by Fr. Arjay Bayron, SDV.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and the blessing of the GDO basketball court marked the official opening of the celebration. Guests and homeowners then shared a festive lunch.
In the afternoon, a basketball championship game took place, with winners announced and awarded. A community “PaBingo” was also held, sponsored by Barangay Bago-Aplaya and led by Barangay Captain Marlon F. Campos in coordination with the Senior Citizens group. The day concluded with live band performances and a stand-up comedienne.
Everyone went home smiling, happy to have taken part in the joyous celebration. (Annalie Ortizo)
