PM Philippines @75: Gratefully rejoicing in the gift of families
On May 25, 2025, we celebrated a joyous day in the PM Philippines to mark the jubilee year of our Foundation. The aim of the day was to honor our families, as each family of a PM Sister plays a vital role in the growth of the PM Philippine Mission. The theme encapsulated our spirit: “PM Philippines @75: Gratefully Rejoicing in the Gift of Families.” Throughout the generations, families have provided unwavering support for the growth of our mission, the Church, and the history of the Congregation. The greatest offering of each family to God and His Kingdom, is indeed the gift of Religious Vocation of each PM Sister.
To truly celebrate the gift of family, Rev. Fr. Ritsche Gamaya, DCD, highlighted three essential characteristics: 1. Structures to be adhered to by all members, 2. Peace as the fruit of respectful obedience to these structures or laws, and 3. Leadership that exemplifies good examples. Ultimately, all these elements should be embraced within a life of humility.
Following the mass, we enjoyed a shared meal. The air was filled with fun, smiles, and camaraderie, showcasing the joy of every family present. Families were positioned in various strategic areas on the school campus to enjoy meals and quality time together. We had 1,000 people sign up for this occasion, creating a vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of a miraculous multiplication of loaves and fish. The abundance of shared food was a resemblance of the multiplication of bread!
The PM Family Gathering was a significant highlight of our year-long jubilee celebration. This event touched many lives and planted deeply our roots of faith and vocation. After 75 years, the gift of families remains the most precious offering we present back to God. (Sr. Charito Gorgonio, PM)
