SYC Working Committee: Planting Seeds of Hope

Behind every successful event is a hand that lends itself selflessly.

The working committee of the recently held Summer Youth Camp 2025 of San Roque Parish, Malabog, worked tirelessly starting from the planning stage to the preparation, all the way to the actual execution. They spent sleepless nights and restless days just to make sure the event would go well.

Mama Kadong, who led the food committee, ensured that the pilgrims eat enough so they can enjoy the activities. She, along with her team, worked hand in hand with the DMI (Daughters of Mary) family to prepare all the food we ate from the beginning of our camp until we bid goodbye.

Kuya Jembo and Kuya John Mark worked on the program, adjusting it the best they could so the pilgrims would experience the best camp possible. They were also at the forefront of entertaining the pilgrims wherein they bring energy, laughter, and enthusiasm to every session, keeping the spirit of the camp alive and joyful.

Ate Juday, the Communication Head, played a crucial role in ensuring order and coordination throughout the camp. While she might not have been visible during the sessions, she was always at her station focused on her laptop, surrounded by her printer, laminating machine, and a pile of documents working quietly but effectively to keep everything running smoothly.

Daya, Krishelle, Angel, and Honey handled the registration. They ensured that all pilgrims were properly listed, answered queries even at midnight, and coordinated the distribution of materials and information all while helping manage the camp’s financial needs.

Kuya Kiffer, Kuya Toper, and Ate Razel managed logistics, making sure the venue was physically ready and acting as older siblings to the pilgrims’ family.

The Zone 7 Band, headed by Kuya Loyd and Sir Cirilo, led the praise and worship with heartfelt devotion, lifting everyone’s spirits through songs and prayer.

The rest of the committee led the GKK Dynamic Groups, taking care of unseen and unexpected tasks, helping each other whenever needed, staying awake during sleeping hours, and attending to the concerns of the pilgrims.

Rev. Fr. Cirilo Bermudez, the Parish Administrator, commended them all by expressing his countless “Salamat po, salamat ninyo ha,” both on and off the mic.

Overall, these members of the working committee volunteered and dedicated their hearts to serve. With their gesture of love, they planted seeds of hope that are now beginning to grow, contributing to His Holy Catholic Church.

To God be the glory.
