2025 1st Chapter Assembly, 30th Chapter Anniversary and 165th Birthday of Mother Marie Joseph Butler

The Diocese of Tagum’s Mother Butler Mission Guilds (MBMG) came together in a spirit of gratitude, unity, and mission for their 2025 1st Chapter Assembly, which also celebrated the 30th Chapter Anniversary and the 165th Birth Anniversary of their foundress, Mother Marie Joseph Butler.

Anchored on the theme: “MBMG: Pilgrims of Hope, Bearers of Charity, Witnesses to God’s Faithfulness,” the gathering highlighted the commitment of the Guild to carry forward the charism of service, rooted in deep faith and joyful hope—especially in this Jubilee Year of Hope.

The event was hosted by the Davao del Norte Vicariates and was graced with a Pontifical Mass presided over by Most Rev. Medil S. Aseo, D.D., Bishop of Tagum. A formation session followed, led by Rev. Fr. Ben Jerson M. Cañete, Spiritual Director of the Bible Apostolate, who inspired participants to remain steadfast in their vocation as lay women actively serving the Church.

This historic assembly served not only as a celebration of milestones, but also as a powerful renewal of MBMG’s dedication to being instruments of hope and charity in their parishes and communities. Through prayer, learning, and fellowship, the members recommitted themselves to their mission as modern-day pilgrims and faithful witnesses to God’s enduring love.

May their lives be a reflection of Your love. May they find fulfillment in humble service, courage in times of difficulty, and unity in their shared mission. Through the intercession of Mother Marie Joseph Butler, guide them always in Your light.

“Faithful in small things. Courageous in great ones. Loving in all things.” — Mother Marie Joseph Butler
