Consecrated Persons a Sign of Hope in the light of Our Lady of Mt Carmel

A mother of a two-year-old girl approached a Consecrated Person or a madre and asked: “Sister, do you think that God will answer my prayers that my daughter will be healed of her sickness? The sister answered, “How do you see this situation in the light of your faith?” Yes, when we see this in the light of faith and hope, there will be a big difference. In the light of our Faith, God is always faithful to His promise Thanks to God for the gift of Hope. Christians are filled with a new joy that comes from within. The challenge and difficulties will always be there, but if we possess a hope “full of faith” we can and we ourselves can become a small beacon of hope to others confront them in the knowledge that we do not have the final word.

All consecrated persons are signs of hope, a beacon of light to the extent that their faith becomes concrete, rooted in reality and sensitive to the needs of our brothers and sisters. Let us think of our Lady of Mt Carmel, after the Annunciation, she received the Word from God and she said Yes. Had she stayed in her home only, the Word would have remained a beautiful experience, but the others would not have shared the message. She had to come down to the place of Elizabeth to share the message of Hope, God’s promise to save us through his Son. So it is with us. Our Lady of Mt Carmel did not flee from the world, but love the times in which God has placed her and not without reason. We can only find happiness by sharing the grace or gift, the Hope we have received to our brothers and sisters that the Lord gives us each day.
