Families Journeying Together with Hope: 10th FLA/PSKB Annual Assembly
Hosting the 10th FLA/PSKB ANNUAL ASSEMBLY, an Archdiocesan Level last Saturday, 26 July 2025 with the theme, “FAMILY: JOURNEYING TOGETHER IN HOPE” for the first time in our parish’s vineyard, the St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish in Buhangin was a wise and advantageous choice considering our area’s capacity. However, when God uses us no matter how small or big, prepared or unprepared, nothing is impossible for Him.
As our Resource Speaker Rev. Fr. Rico Dingal, Chancellor and FLA Director of Diocese of Digos reminded us on the context of his topic GOD HOPES IN MAN. When God wants to use us even the imperfections in us, will always be favorable and will have a positive outcome. When we do His will, we need to have even more faith in Him because we as MAN HOPES IN GOD.
The spirit of cooperation and selfless service of the St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish as host was evident.
FLA/PSKB Workers led by our Coordinator Brod. Maurillo & Sis. Delia Frias as the host, collaborated with the Working Committees led by the Steering Committee Mrs. Lilia Aventurado, FLA Parish Coordinators and Vicariate Heads was truly motivating and challenging. We need to put into action what we have learned. The true purpose of inspiration, the true test of inspiration is action, which in a nutshell means to “Walk your Talk”.
The most important aspect of the aforesaid event was the celebration of the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D. at 11:00 in the morning. Rev. Fr. Orlando Angelia, Parish Priest of St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish and FLA Spiritual Director of the Archdiocese of Davao was not only delighted with the great success but also grateful to the Almighty God for the opportunity given to us and our Heavenly Mother, the Virgin Mary, for inspiring us to follow Jesus, promote the sacredness of life, family and marriage. He also thanked the 538 attendees who represented the Archdiocese of Davao’s 42 parishes, as well as everyone who contributed to the event’s success.
The aforementioned event concluded by serenading the grandparents by the Dumapias Family of the St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish under San Pedro Vicariate who won the First place Song Writing Contest. Around 3:30 in the afternoon we packed our things and bid our goodbyes with an overwhelming smile, instilling in everyone’s heart a sense of gratitude and God’s motivation to continue His work in the seedbeds of every Christian family.
To God be the Glory!
