Bayanihan sa Parokya: A Parish United in Creation
“Bayanihan sa Parokya” isn’t just a cleanup; it’s our parish coming together, hand in hand, to care for our shared home. It’s about embodying the spirit of unity and action for a cause greater than ourselves.
Inspired by the Season of Creation and Pope Francis’ call in Laudato Si’ to protect our planet, we recognize that caring for the environment is a sacred duty. This event is our way of answering that call, showing our love for God’s creation through concrete action.
On September 6, 2025, the Parishioners of St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish rolled up their sleeves and got to work! It was a day filled with purpose, laughter, and a shared commitment to making a difference. We transformed our church grounds into a shining example of environmental stewardship. Every corner received our loving attention.
We began with a heartfelt paraliturgy led by Rev. Fr. Orlando A. Angelia, parish priest, followed by powerful prayers for the elements: soil, water, air, and fire guided by our dedicated ministry heads and a blessing of all the volunteers present. Then, fueled by healthy refreshments, we tackled the cleanup with gusto, sorting waste, and beautifying our surroundings.
The results were astounding! Beyond the piles of segregated garbage, we witnessed a transformation in our community. We deepened our connection to each other and to the environment, proving that when we work together, we can achieve incredible things. “Bayanihan sa Parokya” is a testament to our parish’s commitment to creating a more sustainable future, one act of kindness at a time.
