Hope in Every Step: A Pilgrimage for Creation
Last September 13, 2025, the Archdiocesan Social Action Center spearheaded a meaningful pilgrimage walk in celebration of the Season of Creation at Bukid sa Kaluoy, Puting Bato, Peñaplata, Island Garden City of Samal. With Rev. Fr. Leonardo Dublan Jr., Director of the Archdiocesan Social Action Center, leading the faithful, the event gathered pilgrims in a day of prayer, reflection, and solidarity with creation.
The day began with an assembly at Babak before proceeding to Inahan sa Kanunayng Panabang Chapel in Sitio Tayapok, followed by the Pilgrim Walk and Way of the Cross that allowed participants to reflect on both their faith and their responsibility to care for the environment. A symbolic tree planting was also held, signifying the commitment to protect and nurture nature as part of living out the Season of Creation.
The highlight of the day was the celebration of the Holy Mass presided by Fr. Dublan, which strengthened the pilgrims’ spiritual resolve to be stewards of God’s creation. Fellowship lunch and an area orientation followed, giving participants time to share their experiences before heading home. The pilgrimage was not only a journey of faith but also a concrete expression of ecological conversion, reminding everyone that caring for the Earth is a vital part of Christian life.
