The House of Hope: Rising as the Overall Champion of Intramurals 2025

After four years of resilience, perseverance, and unwavering spirit, the House of Hope—fondly known as the Green Tamaraws—has finally returned to glory, emerging as the overall champion of this year’s Intramurals 2025 at Holy Cross of Mintal.

From second place last year to champions today, the Green Tamaraws roared back stronger than ever, carrying with them the strength and courage of their symbol. With hard work, determination, and camaraderie, they conquered various sports and shone brightly in the field demonstrations on Day 1, where they bagged every championship title. That remarkable feat paved their way toward ultimate victory.

From the very beginning, the House of Hope showed not just skill, but spirit. Their iconic cheer—“Daro, Daro, Daro, Mighty Tamaraws!”—echoed across the grounds, reminding everyone that nothing could stand in their way. And indeed, they “daro’d” through every challenge, proving themselves not only through talent and perseverance but also through teamwork and unity.

More than their victories, what defined their journey was the bond they built along the way. The Green Tamaraws stood cheerful, enthusiastic, and unyielding throughout the three-day event. They celebrated not just wins, but also friendships formed and memories created—moments that will remain in their hearts long after the cheers fade.

For their coaches, the triumph was as much a personal milestone as it was for the house. “This is my first time, in my three years here in Holy Cross, and in my various experiences as head coach in different houses, to finally be hailed as champion. The current happenings are still not sinking in,”shared Sir John Carl Tima, one of the proud coaches of the House of Hope. He expressed gratitude to his co-coaches and every athlete who carried the Tamaraws with pride.

“Lahat kami nagtutulungan, hindi kami nag-iiwanan,” he added—a simple yet powerful reminder that perseverance, compassion, and camaraderie make victories possible and truly, this is what the House of Hope embodied.

True to their name, they never lost hope—whether in defeats, in tight matches, or in moments of doubt. Every encouragement, every push, and every voice of support lifted them higher. They lived out their identity: HOPE. Hope in every challenge. Hope in every circumstance. Hope that binds them together.

Despite differences in year levels and personalities, the Green Tamaraws became one family with one dream. They fought not only to win but to make memories together, proving that unity conquers all.

This year, the House of Hope stood tall, roared louder, and proved that hope is never in vain. With the strength of the mighty tamaraw, they daro’d through every obstacle and dominated Intramurals 2025—forever etching their name as champions. (Regine Vaneca Casildo | The Voyager)
