25 Years of Faith & Devotion: The Loved Flock Community Davao Marks 25 Years of the 2000 Hail Mary Activity

The Loved Flock Community Davao gathered in solemn joy to celebrate a remarkable milestone — the 25th Anniversary of the 2000 Hail Mary activity last November 8, 2025. For a quarter of a century, this sacred devotion has been a living expression of faith, unity, and perseverance, drawing together generations of the faithful who continue to find strength and hope in the power of prayer.

As the community assembled in reverent silence, the air was filled with the familiar cadence of the Hail Mary, each prayer a thread woven into the fabric of shared faith. Faces both young and old reflected the light of gratitude — for blessings received, for friendships formed, and for the grace that has sustained the Loved Flock through the years. What began as a simple act of devotion has grown into a spiritual tradition that stands as a pillar of steadfast faith in Davao.

Yet, amid the joy of this silver jubilee came a profound note of remembrance. The celebration also became a heartfelt tribute to two dearly loved elders of the community who recently passed away following a tragic fire accident namely Teresita and Anita Ababan or what the community lovingly calls Ate Tess and Ate Ann. Their absence was deeply felt, yet their presence lingered in every moment — in the prayers recited, in the candles that flickered softly in their memory, and in the hearts of those they had guided and inspired. Moreover, in his homily, the presider Fr. William Cajes even shared that perhaps their passing on the eve of the community’s anniversary is not a coincidence but a mystery and that it could be Mary herself came and accompanied her two her daughters back home.

These devoted elders had long been pillars of the Loved Flock Community, exemplifying humility, compassion, and unwavering service. Through their leadership and quiet example, they nurtured countless souls, helping others draw closer to God through prayer and fellowship. Their passing has left an irreplaceable void, yet their faith and legacy continue to illuminate the path forward for those they have left behind.

During the anniversary gathering, members shared stories of the community’s early days and of humble beginnings, of challenges faced, and of the enduring belief that united them through every trial. As the 2000 Hail Marys were recited with renewed fervor, there was a palpable sense of grace in the air — a reminder that while time may pass and loved ones may depart, faith endures, binding hearts in love and remembrance.

The 25th Anniversary of the 2000 Hail Mary activity thus stood not only as a celebration of longevity but as a testament to faith’s enduring power to comfort, heal, and unite. It was a moment to give thanks for the past, to honor the lives that have shaped the community, and to renew commitment to a shared mission of prayer and service.

As the final Hail Mary was whispered and the candles’ gentle glow dimmed into the evening, one truth remained and that is that love rooted in faith never fades. The Loved Flock Community Davao moves forward carrying with it 25 years of devotion, the cherished memory of its beloved elders, and the unwavering light of a faith that continues to shine brightly in every heart.
