Finding Hope, Casting Nets: MMC Host Vocation Day
In celebration of Vocation Month, the Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Cathedral (MMC) in the Diocese of Digos at the Holy Cross of Digos Inc. hosted a truly inspiring and hopeful event: a Vocation Promotion Day.
This gathering was perfectly aligned with the year’s powerful theme: “Pilgrims of Hope: Casting Nets, Journeying Together ” (inspired by John 21:3). The theme reminds us that like the disciples, we are all travelers on a path of faith, called to work together and boldly share the good news.
The special day, collaboratively organized by the Vocation Apostolate and the Parish Youth Apostolate of the MMC, brought together a wonderful group of distinguished guests from various religious congregations and vocations. Priests, nuns, brothers, and devoted laypersons shared their deeply personal and powerful stories about how they discovered and answered God’s special call in their lives.
The atmosphere was filled with hope and reflection as the speakers encouraged the young individuals to listen to the voice of God who has a unique plan for each one of us.
This event was a powerful reminder of the words of Jesus: “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few ” (Luke 10:2). The speakers challenged the youth to be brave, to pray, and to not be afraid to give their entire lives to God.
If you are a young person in the Diocese of Digos, remember this key message from the Vocation Promotion: Don’t settle for less that God’s best! Listen closely for His voice, trust that He will guide you, and know that the most fulfilling life is one lived in full surrender to His wonderful plan, working with others as Pilgrims of Hope.
Do you believe God is calling you to cast your net differently? Pray about it! (Sugid)
