Hail to the King of Universe!

The country is beset with bickering from groups pronouncing their allegiance to their political leaders. The scenario is getting worse as days go by. Corruption is the flavor of the news, from flood control scams down to budget insertions. In addition, political leaders seem to be either idolized or hated. But more often than not, leaders are more idolized and revered by their members because they see them as saviors: savior from the deep-seated corruption.

However, we have another Savior. The One and the Only Savior whose solemnity we celebrate today, the solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Universe. It is a title for Jesus Christ that signifies his absolute authority over all creation, both physical and social. But the authority is more spiritual than worldly. His Kingship is inviting for allegiance through truth and not by force.

Therefore, let the country be healed. Let the King of Universe save us from political bickering and systemic corruption. Let us stop alluding to political leaders. There is no other True Leader but the King of Universe.
