KSP-PSL Celebrates 60 Years of Faithful Service in Annual Gathering
The Kasaulogan sa Pulong–Pangulo sa Liturhiya (KSP-PSL) of the Archdiocese of Davao joyfully marked its 60th Anniversary last November 15, 2025, at the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) Gym, Bajada, Davao City. With the theme “Malaumon ug Madasigon nga Nagapanaw Uban sa Katawhan,” the gathering brought together 2,802 PSLs and EMCHs from parishes and GKKs across the archdiocese for a full day of prayer, formation, and celebration.
The day opened early with the arrival and registration of delegates, followed by the Living Rosary and a solemn Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament. The sacred silence and united prayers of the community set a deeply spiritual tone for the entire celebration.
One of the highlights of the morning was Conference I, featuring a formation talk by Fr. Michael Ondras Jr. Archdiocesan Liturgical Center (ALC) Director. His message centered on the enduring relevance of the First Council of Nicaea, the Jubilee of Hope, and the Church’s mission of proclaiming Jesus Christ as the source of salvation. He emphasized the importance of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed—a profession of faith that encapsulates the Church’s core beliefs. Fr. Ondras reminded the participants that the Creed is not only a liturgical text but an identity card passed on by the early bishops and Fathers of the Church, grounding Christians in the truth of Christ’s divinity and the mission entrusted to the Church throughout the centuries.
The atmosphere in the afternoon shifted to one of festivity and excitement as participants enjoyed a raffle draw, bringing smiles and lightness after a day filled with reflection and prayer.
The celebration reached its peak with the Holy Mass, presided over by Most Rev. Romulo G. Valles, D.D., Archbishop of Davao. His presence and message of gratitude and encouragement served as a fitting conclusion to a day that honored six decades of dedicated service. The Mass became a communal expression of thanksgiving for the unwavering commitment of PSL leaders who, through the years, have faithfully guided communities in the celebration of God’s Word.
This 60-year milestone stands as a powerful reminder of the steadfastness, hope, and missionary spirit of the KSP-PSL. It was not only an anniversary celebration, but also a moment to look back at the abundant graces of the past and to look forward with renewed energy toward a more vibrant future.
With hearts uplifted, the participants left the UIC Gym carrying with them the joy of fellowship and a strengthened resolve to continue their mission. The celebration affirmed that the journey of the KSP-PSLs as “malaumon, madasigon, ug mapasalamaton” that will continue to light the path of the faithful for many more years to come.
