MIC Sisters Celebrate Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception and Renewal of Vows
The Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (MIC) celebrated the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin last December 8, 2025 at the MIC Retreat House.
It is indeed significant for the MIC Sisters because they received the name, Immaculate Conception on the eve of the dogma’s 50th Anniversary on December 7, 1904 in which the church dogma of the Immaculate Conception was formally proclaimed in 1854. It was Pope Pius X who gave and consecrated the Institute to Mary, giving the MIC Sisters the whole world as field of apostolate.
Filled with God’s grace, the Blessed Virgin Mary was prepared to become the Mother of our Savior, Jesus Christ. She was free from original sin and through her humble “yes” to God became a model of obedience, gratitude, and holiness for all disciples. Inspired by her example, the Institute of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception was founded to reveal Jesus Christ in a spirit of thanksgiving, with a heart that is both Marian and Missionary.
The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception being one of the Feasts, allows the MIC Sisters to remember with gratitude the blessings as missionaries in thanksgiving, wherein it is on this day that the MIC Sisters will have their renewal of vows.
The Eucharistic Celebration was presided by Fr. Angel Crisostomo, M.I.
The celebration was well attended by the MIC sisters, family and friends, partners, benefactors, sponsors and the Associates of the MIC. The celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin ended up with a fellowship dinner. (Hermie Mapute, AsMIC)
