Carmelite Nuns of Davao Celebrate 79th Foundation Anniversary
For seventy-nine years, the Carmel of Davao has stood quietly in Davao City—not in prominence, but in prayer. The Carmelite Monastery has been a hidden sanctuary where the Divine Office, or the Liturgy of the Hours, rises daily, where silence becomes intercession, and where love is offered in secret for the salvation of souls.
Through changing decades, social transition, and generational shifts, the Monastery has remained faithful to its essential mission: contemplative union with Christ for the Church.
This anniversary is a thanksgiving celebration for fidelity.
The Carmelite Nuns of Davao are offering a Thanksgiving Mass on March 10, Tuesday at 10:00 am, for all their benefactors and friends who stood by them through the years, helping them in every way. They call on the clans of their benefactors who have gone ahead of us, and also for those who, until at present, are still faithfully caring for them in the name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
