SMPRP Liturgical Music Ministry 2026

Parish Liturgical Music Ministry Created

Music plays a vital role in the Mass! It’s like the heartbeat of the celebration, setting the tone and atmosphere for worship.

Selected Parish and Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKK) Liturgical Choir of St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish, Buhangin, gathered together on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the PSK Hall to select the composition of the Liturgical Music Ministry Core Group.

Prior to the selection, Seminarian Junhel P. Galleposo shared his insights on the Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy (Sacrosanctum Concilium 163). These are some of the key points of Sem. Galleposo’s sharing: A. Song is the sign of Heart’s joy. B. All the faithful should be led to that full, conscious, and active participation in liturgical celebration which is demanded by the very nature of liturgy. C. The Church approves of all forms of true art that have the requisite qualities and admits them into divine worship. D. The musical tradition of the universal church is a treasure of immeasurable value. Sacred music has a clear purpose: “to give glory to God and to sanctify the faithful”.

The following had been elected to compose the Music Ministry Core Group: Music Coordinator – Oscar Apuya, Asst. Music Coordinators: Alexander Abing and Jesus Raquel, Secretary – Angie Dumapias, Asst.
