A Sacred Milestone: Grade 3 Pupils Embrace the Eucharist
At OLMMP Parish, a heartfelt celebration of faith unfolded as Grade 3 pupils from several GKKs joyfully received their First Holy Communion during the 2nd Mass (7:00 AM) on Sunday, March 22, 2026, presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Msgr. Maximo Sarno.
The young communicants came from the GKKs of Birhen sa Fatima, Sts. Anne & Joachim, St. Joseph the Worker, and Sto. Niño Km. 15. This sacred occasion marked their first reception of the Body of Christ.
Before the celebration, the children completed a series of catechetical sessions under the PSP (Pangulo sa Panudlo) Ministry and received the Sacrament of Reconciliation, ensuring they were spiritually prepared for this important milestone.
Because the 30-minute time allotment for religious instruction in schools was insufficient for complete catechesis, OLMMP Parish organized Saturday catechetical sessions in the children’s respective GKK chapels. These sessions allowed the pupils to fully understand the significance of the sacrament and qualify to receive their First Holy Communion.
The collective efforts of catechists, parents, and the parish community played a vital role in guiding the young communicants.
This First Holy Communion conducted at OLMMP serves as a reminder of the Church’s dedication to nurturing the faith of the youth and highlights the importance of forming young hearts to encounter Christ through the Eucharist.
