San Pedro Cathedral Fiesta 2026

The fiesta celebration of San Pedro Cathedral Parish here in the Archdiocese of Davao is not just a parish celebration. It is a celebration in honor of the Patron Saint of the local Church of Davao. Thus, it is an expression of communion of communities taught and inspired by the the example of Saint Peter, the Apostle.

In the midst of our human frailties as God’s people, like Saint Peter, we are chosen to be strong in our faith and mission. Beset at this moment by political, economic and even spiritual crises, our faith in the Lord, who trusts us, must impel us to continue to become signs of his presence in this part of the world.

Holding on to the teaching of the apostles, our parishes, GKKs and families must become a sign of hope for the hopeless. Where there is distrust, let our good example become a source of trust. Like the Savior who trusted Saint Peter amidst his weakness, let us build each other up as Dabawenyo believers by living justly in the spirit of compassion.

As missionary disciples inspired by Saint Peter, let us become above all a sign of communion in this part of the globe. May all our effort in interreligious dialogue and ecumenical movement as an Archdiocese continue to mark us as sent for the mission of the Savior that we may be one.
