Immaculate Conception Parish of Mintal Celebrates 67th Canonical Erection Anniversary

The 67th Canonical Erection Anniversary of the Immaculate Conception Parish of Mintal was celebrated with a two-day event. It commenced on July 16, 2026, the actual anniversary of the parish’s canonical erection, and concluded with the Parish Day Celebration on July 18, 2026. This year’s theme, “Rooted in Faith, Called to Stewardship,” emphasized thanksgiving and prayer to unite the clergy, parish leaders, ministries, and the faithful from the different Zones and Gagmay’ng Kristohanong Katilingban (GKKs) in commemorating sixty-seven years of God’s grace and guidance and the continuing missionary endeavor as a parish.

The celebration opened on July 16 with a 6:00 AM Solemn Eucharistic Celebration at the Immaculate Conception Parish of Mintal. Rev. Fr. Zenon Ampong and Rev. Fr. Louis Jasper Alfeche led the Mass in giving thanks to the Lord for all the blessings and graces that He has poured out on the parish and the faithful throughout the years.

A highlight of the celebration was when twelve pillars were lit by selected parish couples, signifying the Church’s foundation on the Twelve Apostles and the important part that Christian families play in fostering the faith and in strengthening the life and mission of the parish, calling the faithful to renew their commitment to support the Church through their lives of prayer, witness, and service.

The anniversary celebration continued on July 18 with the Parish Day Celebration, where parishioners from the different Zones and GKKs gathered for a day to worship, fellowship, and thanksgiving. The spiritual center of the celebration was reached during the 9:00 AM Holy Mass, which was still presided over by Rev. Fr. Zenon Ampong with Rev. Fr. Louis Jasper Alfeche.

One of the highlights of the anniversary was the Commissioning of the GSLs as Stewards during the Holy Mass. They presented their Commitment Cards as representatives from the different Zones and GKKs to signify their intention of being of service to God and His people in their communities. They also reiterated the parish’s commitment to the ongoing formation of servant leaders and the advocacy of stewardship in the life of the Church.

After the holy mass, the parish community gathered at the Parish Gym for the Parish Day Program. In Rev. Fr. Louis Jasper Alfeche welcome message, he expressed gratitude for the dedication and service of every steward for their selflessness in the vineyard of the Lord, which had enriched and strengthened the parish through the years.

A program highlight was the KaSaDra Presentations with parish clusters creatively performing through music, dance, and storytelling their faith, creativity, and unity. The celebration ended with the giving of awards to the winners, raffle draw, and the Final Blessing given by Rev. Fr. Zenon Ampong, culminating a day of joyful thanksgiving and sharing of the parish community.

For more than six decades, Immaculate Conception Parish of Mintal has been the cornerstone and the cradle of the faithful; guiding, supporting, and nurturing its children in faith and spirituality, in prayer and sacraments, with the life of the Church. Hence, as it celebrated its 67th Canonical Erection Anniversary, the event served as a day of recollection and a day of thanksgiving as well, thanking the Lord for His continued guidance.
