Renewing Mission Through Service: OLMMP Conducts GKK Nomination and Sending Forth
Under the leadership of Rev. Msgr. Maximo Sarno, Parish Priest, and Rev. Fr. Roland Boy Ong, Parochial Vicar, the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish (OLMMP), comprising the communities of Indangan and Acacia, continues to strengthen its Basic Ecclesial Communities (GKKs) through the parish-wide GKK Nomination and Sending Forth Program.
As part of the parish’s renewal initiative, GKK Servant Leaders first conducted a family profiling of all members within their respective Basic Ecclesial Communities. This pastoral activity aims to update parish records and deepen the Church’s connection with every Catholic family.
Beginning in June, Rev. Msgr. Sarno personally visited each of the parish’s 32 GKKs together with the Parish Nomination Team. In every visit, a roll call of GKK members was conducted, followed by the nomination and election of the six GKK Administrative Servant Leaders: PSK, PSL, PSP, PSA, PSKB, and PSB.
The process concluded with an Acceptance Holy Mass and the Sending Forth Ceremony for the newly elected servant leaders, officially commissioning them to serve their respective communities with dedication and missionary zeal.
This parish-wide undertaking seeks to rekindle the faith of every GKK member and inspire them to rediscover their calling as baptized Christians actively participating in the life and mission of the Church.
To date, almost all of the 33 GKKs have successfully completed their nomination and acceptance rites, with the remaining activities expected to conclude during the first week of July.
The parish expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Parish Nomination Team for their generous service, especially PSK Vilma Albofera, PSK Doris Jane Leaño, Soccom Analyn Cagabhion, PSL Ricky Cagabhion, PSL Deonicio Donato, and most especially Rev. Msgr. Maximo Sarno, who personally led and accompanied the entire nomination process.
The GKK Nomination and Acceptance program reflects the parish’s commitment to transparent, participatory, and prayerful leadership, where servant leaders are nominated and elected by the majority of the members of their respective Basic Ecclesial Communities. Through this initiative, OLMMP continues to build vibrant and mission-oriented communities rooted in faith, communion, and service. (Marilou A. Luzon | OLMMP Soccom)
