Science Discovers What God Has Already Created

Scientific discoveries continue to transform our world. Researchers develop new medicines, improve medical treatments, and deepen our understanding of nature and the human body. While these achievements are often celebrated as victories of human knowledge, people of faith recognize a deeper truth: science discovering what God has already created.

From the beginning, God filled creation with everything necessary to sustain life. The Book of Genesis tells us that God saw all He had made and declared it good. Hidden within that goodness are countless blessings waiting to be discovered. Many medicines used today come from plants, minerals, and natural substances that have existed since creation. Science helps us understand and use these gifts, but it did not create them. God placed them in the world long before they were found.

The same is true of the human body. Every scientific breakthrough reveals the incredible complexity of God’s design. The more we learn about the body’s ability to heal, adapt, and protect itself, the more we are reminded of the wisdom of the Creator.

Yet healing is not only physical. In today’s world, many people struggle with anxiety, loneliness, fear, and uncertainty. While science can treat diseases and improve physical health, it cannot fully heal the human spirit. God has already provided what we need for spiritual healing through faith, prayer, the sacraments, and the love of Christian community.

Jesus Christ offers the greatest healing of all-the healing of the soul. Through His mercy and salvation, we find peace, hope, and strength even in difficult times.

For Catholics, science and faith are not enemies. Instead, they work together in the search for truth. Science reveals the wonders of creation, while faith reveals the Creator behind those wonders.

As new discoveries continue to emerge, let us receive them with gratitude. Every scientific advancement reminds us that God, in His wisdom and love, has already placed within creation many of the gifts needed to heal our bodies and nourish our souls. (Atty. Gwendeline Rodulfa)
