Clergy Day 2026: A Day of Fellowship and Recreation
Priests and religious sisters of the Diocese of Mati gather at the St. Therese Gymnasium today, August 7, for Clergy Day 2026 and the observance of Vianney Day, bringing members of the diocesan community together for a day of fellowship, recreation, and shared moments of joy. The gathering provides an opportunity for those engaged in the mission of the Church to spend time with one another beyond their regular pastoral and ministry responsibilities.
The day’s activities feature a variety of games, including pickleball, basketball, cards, Snake and Ladder, chess, darts, and fake volleyball. Participants take part in friendly competition while engaging with one another in an atmosphere of camaraderie and sportsmanship, allowing the recreational activities to become an avenue for strengthening relationships among the clergy and religious sisters.
Beyond the games, the recreational activities provide a space for members of the diocesan community to reconnect, share in one another’s company, and strengthen the bonds that support their common mission. The gathering also reflects the value of fraternity and fellowship among those who dedicate their lives to serving Christ and His Church, where moments of recreation become opportunities to renew relationships and build communion.
As the Diocese of Mati observes Vianney Day, Clergy Day 2026 offers its priests and religious sisters an opportunity to come together in the spirit of Christian fellowship and shared vocation. Through the day’s activities, the celebration recognizes that those called to serve Christ and His people are also strengthened by community, friendship, and the joy of being together in His name.
