GKK Our Lady of the Assumption celebrates its 3rd patronal fiesta: A Journey of Faith, Unity, and Mission

From a humble gathering of Catholic families in 2022, the GKK Our Lady of the Assumption, has grown into a vibrant Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC), rooted in prayer, united in service, and committed to the mission of the Church. Through God’s grace and the generous dedication of servant leaders and member families, the community has continued to flourish in faith, evangelization, stewardship, and pastoral service.

This year, GKK Our Lady of the Assumption joyfully celebrates its 3rd Patronal Fiesta in honor of its beloved patroness, the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of the Assumption, embracing this year’s inspiring theme: “Maria, kauban nato sa misyon sa nagapanaw nga mga piniyalan.” The celebration features a Nine-Day Novena from August 6 to 14, 2026, culminating in the Fiesta Mass on August 15, 2026, to be presided over by Rev. Msgr. Paul A. Cuison, JCD, with Rev. Fr. Mervin George A. Maglana, DCD, Parish Priest of San Pedro Poveda Parish. This year’s celebration is a joyful thanksgiving for God’s abundant blessings and a renewed commitment to live as one faith community under Mary’s loving intercession.

More than an annual tradition, the Patronal Fiesta is a celebration of faith, unity, and mission. Through the Novena Mass and Kasaulogan sa Pulong, community fellowship, and various spiritual activities, families are invited to deepen their relationship with Christ, strengthen their bonds with one another, and continue living the Gospel in their daily lives.

The inspiring journey of GKK Our Lady of the Assumption reminds every Basic Ecclesial Community that great things begin with faithful hearts willing to serve. Regardless of size or resources, every GKK can become a vibrant and missionary community when its members work together with faith, generosity, and love.

As we celebrate this year’s Patronal Fiesta, may the story of GKK Our Lady of the Assumption encourage other GKKs to continue building Christ-centered families, fostering communion within their neighborhoods, and becoming living witnesses of God’s love. Together, let us remain steadfast in our mission—growing in faith, hope, and love while joyfully serving God and one another.

THAT IN ALL THINGS GOD MAY BE GLORIFIED.
