Renewal of Vows & Sending Forth of PSL, PSK, PSA
Last 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time, the faithful gathered at the historic San Pedro Metropolitan Cathedral for a solemn and moving ceremony: the Renewal of Vows and Sending Forth of the PSL, PSK, and PSA ministries.
The celebration was led by Rev. Fr. Evan B. Esmade, Fr. Evan presided over the rite, guiding the ministers as they reaffirmed their commitment to serve God and the community.
Clad in white and orange, the members of PSL, PSK, and PSA stood united, holding lighted candles serving as symbols of the light of Christ they are called to carry to others. As they renewed their vows, they pledged again to serve with humility, faith, dedication, and love.
In his message, Fr. Evan reminded the ministers that to serve is a sacred privilege and a joyful response to God’s grace. He encouraged them to be true witnesses of the Gospel — to shine not for themselves, but for Christ, and to build up the community in faith, hope, and charity.
Following the renewal of vows, Fr. Evan solemnly sent them forth, commissioning them to continue their mission in the parishes, in the GKKs, and wherever they are called: to serve God’s people with generous hearts, renewed spirit, and steadfast faith.
As their candles burned bright, the ceremony concluded with a prayer: that the Lord bless their service, keep them faithful, and guide every step as they go forth, renewed, blessed, and sent. (Akiramae Davao, San Pedro Cathedral SoCCom)
