New Service Connection Contract, the account holder is responsible for the installation and maintenance of pipes and fixtures after the water meter. Proper maintenance will prevent pipeline leaks, entry points of contaminants, and sudden increase in water bill.

1. Use quality plumbing materials.
2. Check water pipes and fixtures.
   1. in good condition
   2. securely installed
   3. properly functioning
3. Conduct regular leak checks.
   Consult a private plumber for repairs and replacement.
4. Prevent contaminants from entering pipeline.
   1. Do not submerge pipeline in dirty water
   2. Remove hoses when not in use.
5. Replace damaged hoses for appliances that are directly connected to the pipeline.
6. Regulate water pressure.
   6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
   5:00 PM – 10:00 PM PEAK HOURS
   Adjust gate valve during peak and non-peak hours of water use.
7. After a water service interruption…
   1. Flush by turning on the faucet for at least 2 minutes
   2. Boil
   3. Contact DCWD for any water supply or quality concerns.
8. Install a storage tank between your water meter and booster pump.
