HCDC Breaks New Ground In Campus Security With Integrated Monitoring System

Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) marked a milestone in campus security and digital innovation with the ceremonial turnover and activation of Mindanao’s first fully integrated school monitoring system in partnership with UltraTech Software Solutions on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the HCDC lobby entrance.

The HCDC C.R.O.S.S. Connect system integrates facial recognition, RFID technology, classroom monitoring, attendance tracking, communication, and campus safety features into a unified web and mobile platform designed to strengthen security and improve campus operations.

The system is part of HCDC’s continuing initiative to enhance campus access control and classroom monitoring by facilitating the identification and monitoring of authorized students through digital technologies.

During the ceremony, HCDC President Br. Noelvic H. Deloria, S.C. described the initiative as a significant milestone for the institution, particularly as it aligns with HCDC’s 75th anniversary celebration.

The “C.R.O.S.S.” in HCDC C.R.O.S.S. Connect represents Centralized Records, Operations, and Safety, while “Connect” reflects the system’s goal of bringing essential school services together through a single digital platform.

The platform currently covers four key functions: attendance and gate control, finance and billing management, information broadcasts, and a safety and emergency network. Through facial recognition and RFID, the system can automatically track campus entry and classroom attendance, while students and parents can access relevant financial information, school announcements, schedules, and other updates.

The safety and emergency features are also designed to support HCDC’s emergency response efforts by providing real-time alerts for situations such as typhoons, earthquakes, class suspensions, and other safety advisories. An in-app SOS feature will also provide students with a direct channel to request campus security assistance.

The system can further help the institution determine how many students remain inside campus buildings during emergencies, supporting monitoring and response during drills, inspections, and actual emergency situations.

For UltraTech Software Solutions CEO Celomar T. Dio, the partnership represents more than the introduction of new technology, emphasizing its role in creating a safer and more connected learning environment.

He added that the system aims to provide schools with better visibility and smarter tools while giving parents greater peace of mind and students a safer, smarter, and more connected environment.
