Mental Health 101 Launched in Our Lady of the Assumption Parish 2026

Mental Health 101 Launched in OLAP

The Mental Health Ministry of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish (OLAP) officially began its formation sessions on October 11, 2026 with Mental Health 101.

The sessions aim to introduce parishioners to the importance of mental health and well-being. As the saying goes, “There is no health without mental health.”

Grounded in the World Health Organization’s (WHO) definition, participants were reminded that mental health is “a state of well-being in which we realize our own abilities, cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively and fruitfully, and contribute to our community.”

The discussion also highlighted the 4 aspects of the self — physical, emotional, social, and spiritual — and the value of self-care in nurturing all of them.

This first session given to the Pangulo sa Katilingban (PSK) comes at a timely moment as we observe World Mental Health Month this October.

The OLAP Mental Health Ministry Core Team is composed of Nelson Magnaye, Imelda Avila, Pinky Cabreros, Mehliza Gulle, and Francis Ryan Fulle. The team looks forward to offering more formation sessions in the coming months to support and journey with the parish community. (Dr. Nelson Magnaye)
